I have a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and recently switched to Verizon Messages+ as my default text messenger. I've noticed when I receive a video I can't play it within the app. This has happened with every video I've received so far. When I click on the play icon it asks me to select a default video player instead of playing the video within the app. All of the other text messengers I've used previously would just play the video within the messenger. Is there a fix for this, or is this just a limitation of the app?

Verizon is shutting down the Messages+ app by June 2024, so it's either that the video playing functionality wasn't ever there because this is an old app they don't want to support anymore, or else they have been gradually shutting down features as a part of the turnoff process.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.

Good morning, being on top of the Verizon Message+ features is crucial, especially if you are managing you video playback options.
Keep in mind that particular video playback ability has always been the standard process.

You can always submit a request for improvement by going to the App > Select Settings (top right; three lines) > Tap "Get Help" > Touch "Suggest an Improvement".

Gilbert...considering that the link also tells you in one section that Messages+ is getting shut down in a few months...don't think there's much we can suggest to improve the situation?
