I use the Verizon messages app. When I go to begin a new text, there is one contact person's name that is colored blue. Out of all my other contacts no one else's name is colored blue. Does anyone know why this is?

You never indicated if your phone was an iPhone or an Android phone. As noted in another reply, Message+ is being shutdown soon. You might want to start shifting your messages to another application. Either the default app on the iPhone or you can use Google Messages on an Android phone. If you were using Message+ for its multiple device syncing, you can use Google Messages for the same things provided the devices are compatible with the application.

I don't know either, but FYI Messages+ is getting shut down in June (3 months) and it's already acting weird from numerous other threads I've seen.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.

Hello, MonaLisa1402. Thanks so much for the screenshot. Help is here. The contact in question, are they a Verizon customer? Do they have an Android or Apple device?
