I use Verizon Messaging+ on both my Mac Desktop and my Android Phone and Tablet. I need to know where the app is pulling my contacts from because they do NOT match my google contacts.

Kholmes35, making sure your contacts match is our goal. The Voice Mail would pull from your Phont Storage Contacts (Verizon Cloud). What kind of phone do you have?

I have a Samsung Note 4. I add and back up all my contacts to my google account and not my phone. Does that make a difference? The contacts showing in my messaging app are different than those in my google contacts. How can I get them to match? Thank you!

The only way to get them to match is the export a copy of your Google contacts and import them into the Verizon Cloud.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Hi Aliem,
I thought this would solve my issue, but unfortunately, my desktop is a
Macbook Pro and it won't recognize my Android Note 4 Phone when it is
plugged in via usb. I downloaded android file transfer and it still
doesn't recognize it. So, unless you have another suggestion as to how I
can get the backup, this isn't working.

Hi Aliem,
Ok, I found a workaround for the Android phone. My mac has parallels and so
I was able to see my Android phone on the Windows side and copy the
contacts vcf file. I followed you instructions and pasted the vcf file into
my Verizon cloud on line. But now, I have TONS of eroneous contacts
(emails with no names), and countless duplicate contacts. My phone is
showing 4500 contacts and my verizon cloud contacts shows 5600! ARGH! How
in the world do I fix this? Thank you so much for your help! Kim

Hi Kim,
I suspect that the duplication iscaused by the incompatibilities between android/IOS. That's my non developer expertise speaking. Let me check with VZ Cloud and get back to you tomorrow/thur to see how you can work back to your original state.

Hi kholmes35
Per VZ Cloud: Have her contact support and request a rollback. That would reset the cloud address book and effectively remove the duplicates.
KIM, dial *611 on your device to be connected to Customer Support.
Good luck!
ALIEM
