What info specifically can a primary account holders access from separate line usage?

I had complications with my previous phone service & due to recent events in my life that are best left at "tumultuous minutiae"; regardless I've been without a phone so my parents were kind enough to add me to their phone plan and I've been paying them directly but they're the primary account holders. 

It was a difficult choice because I simply do not trust my parents. Whether it's with my privacy or with their parenting. As a child, they created a charade that I had earned their trust in regards to using a PC without supervision; but in reality they were just trying to encourage me to reveal more private information about myself via screen/key recording software. It's something that became an addiction to them(this was some years ago and the phenomenon of parents disregarding privacy has only grown worse.)

Id like to trust them but I simply can not rely on their word when they say "I can't see anything about your calls or texts." 

So what is it? Can primary account holders see calls & text times/numbers or can they actually view transcripts of text messages?

They can see the numbers you are either calling or sending text messages to. That goes for the receiving side of the things too. They can't see content of the messages. They also can't see what you are using the data plan for, but they can see how much you are using.

Good luck with the future and hopefully you can get to a point where you can shift your line back to your own account no matter if it is postpaid or a prepaid account.
