Why does my messages plus app keep crashing?

why is my messages plus app keep crashing as well as at times having about a 3 hour delay of texts dropping in? I have cleared cache, forced stop, restarted and uninstalled/reinstalled the app. it doesn't do it all day but off and on during the day.  Any suggestions to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated., thanks Missie

Mine is doing the same...

Here is what Verizon on fb messenger told me..

Thank you for letting us know. We have been looking into your concerns further. I do apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused you. Verizon is experiencing an outage with the Message+ application. Our technicians are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it quickly. At this time, we do not have an estimated time frame for a fix. Please feel free to reach out to us for updates. Did you have any further questions I may help you with in the meantime? - Manuel

"I found this solution in another thread, and it worked for me.  My only concern is if I lost any security updates. 

On android, go to google play store, click the 3 bars in upper left go to my apps and games, click message plus or Verizon Message.

On the next screen click uninstall and it will ask if you want to uninstall all updates for the message plus app. Say yes and it will work fine.

All message threads will be intact and your message + app will be the original stock version, but it will work."

There seems to be a flurry of us all having this same problem with Verizon messages today (August 1, 2019), must be a bug. 

Any update on whats causing the issue @GD0405 @VerizonCustomerSupport?

Mine started today also (about 7pm est).  funny thing is I can open a pic etc and send a message through gallery and add text message but I just can't directly open the app with the icon or check incoming messages.  Nice to know its not just me and probably a bug, however, waiting for a fix is nuts.  Do better Verizon; we pay you more than enough!

Thanks for letting us know they are aware of the issue. 

Same problem as everyone else with the app crashing. Hope it's fixed soon

I reached out to other Message+ users and they are having the same issue - confirms the outage is wide spread.

Doesn't work on my samsung but works fine on LG so system wide outage doesn't make sense to me

Hi just had this same issue on 8/1/2019 at 9:30 PM EDT. I ended up going to the Google Playstore and uninstalling the app. I clicked OPEN, and it started downloading an update, then installed it. Now it works fine. When I checked the Playstore, again, for updates, there were no further updates for my phone.
