I am traveling internationally, with no international plan. My Galaxy S6 is in airplane mode with WiFi enabled, and I am receiving texts. Will I be charged extra for these? Can I also send texts (for free)? Thanks.

If you use messenger plus on wifi, there is no charge for the texts. You are good.

Do you have VZW Wi-Fi wher Verizon usually is in the status area at top of phone? or do you have Message +?

I have the little wifi symbol, as usual, right next to the airplane symbol

But does it say "VZW Wi-Fi" anywhere at the top of the screen?
Do you have the Verizon message plus app?
Both will give you ability to text for free over wifi. If you have VZW Wi-Fi, you can actually call home and receive calls from home free.

No, it didn't say VZW-Wi-Fi. So I switched to the Messenger+ app, and nothing changed in status bar. The icons are all the same.
