Will SMS text messaging continue to work on 4G flip phones such as LG VN220 after 27-Nov-2024?

I have a Verizon LG VN220 flip phone with which I am very happy.  It does not allow app installation, but it has a baked-in version of Message+ 6.4.3.

When Verizon discontinues the "Message+ App" on 7-November-2024 (according to a text message I received this morning from Verizon), will I still be able to send and receive text messages on my VN220?

Most of the financial institutions and other business I deal with rely on SMS text messaging as part of two-factor authentication.

I prefer the flip phone:  battery life measured in days, superior security because the phone is locked down and can't install apps, real buttons instead of the atrocious greasy touch screen interface, excellent audio performance, etc.

If there is no other texting app on the phone, then no.

As far as I can see, the integrated "Message+ 6.4.3"  app is the only option for SMS text on the VN220.  I don't see anything else to fall back to.

The information  provided about discontinuation does not answer the question about my VN220.  If it won't be able to send/receive SMS text messages any more, then I suppose I will be forced to replace it.  However,  I don't want to replace it.  I don't care if the "app" stops working on tablets and slab phones.  I just want to continue using the same basic SMS text functionality that's built in to the phone.

Can you please forward this issue to the team involved in the discontinuation of Verizon Messages+ to make them aware of the loss of features for users of the 4G basic phones?

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
