No return number was sent with text.  Any way to trace back to computer that was used to send to my number?

Of course, you might need an court order for this information due to a law or two. I cannot get further into detail as I have never researched this phenomenon. Call {invalid number} for a detailed explanation. Report this to the police, get a sherrif or a detective involved. GL

The OP did not say if the message was threatening in anyway. They did say through the subject that to me it was one text.

Could very well be someone simply entered the wrong number.

Like stated previously it could just be a typo.

Also you may want to make sure if you have a vtext alias set up its not a common name like Bob, Jim, Kevin or anything like that.

With some phones when sending a text in the "TO:" field if you enter a Contact name manually like "Bob" instead of using the Add Contact feature it'll send to Bob@vtext.com instead of the associated contact.

So if you have a common vtext alias set for your number you'll be the catch all for thos messages.
