Great question, we know being able to send messages is important and we want to make sure your messaging services are working properly. We would like to reset the application; no worries this will not delete any information only the application settings. To do this please go into setings>applications>verizon messages>storage>clear data. Once you have performed these steps please restart your device and access the messageing application to send a message. Let us know if it is working properly now.
