cannot see pictures that were attached to texts

the pictures that were attached to many of my texts no longer show up.  i cannot see them in the individual text messages or when i try to access them via the task bar.  not all of my pictures are missing.  the only ones i can see are prior to February 2015.  anything since then are missing.  where the picture should be just times out...the clock just keeps circling.  i tried to restore my old messages and that helped get some of the older pics back but nothing current.  HELP!
