My messages keep changing from chat to text and back, why is this happening? It's doing it to the same person and they have the same verizon messenger.
Also we both have the updated version 6.4.5
Some help would be greatly appreciated!!!
MOTO537, I depend on my text messages to work without any issues. How long have you been noticing that this has been going on? Is this only happening to the one contact or to all contacts that you text message? Please provide me with some details.

I am having the same issue- my phone is switching from text messages to chat messages with the same contact. I have even deleted the thread, restarted my phone, etc. I am not quite sure why it toggles back and forth between. Some messages show as "read" when sent via chat, and then the text only shows "delivered" as the last status of the message. I wish I knew how to stay on chat, it is so much nicer knowing that the person actually received and read the message.
It is doing it to who ever is on messenger + I notice it more so with the person I text most. We are both on WiFi or have 4g so I know it's not a data issue.
MOTO537, thank you for the detailed information. I understand how important this setting is and let's continue working on this issue. Let's get some additional information and look into this further. What's the make & model of your device? Was this issue happening before you updated the application?

MOTO with the newest version 6.4.5 go to settings, then advanced, uncheck the box for ENABLE CHAT. Your messages are then sent as a text. Not sure why this is enabled as default. Your main contact should do the same! Somehow the network knows if your recipient has message + installed and sends to them as CHAT.
