I'm replying because I had the same issue and finally figured it out, hoping to help others.This seems like a long route to take but...
At the top of this page, click on "My Verizon". From there, click on "My Messaging". Once you get to the My Messaging page, there is a search field on the upper right hand corner that says "I want to __________". Click the 
sign which provides a list of options in the drop down box. In the bottom section, under Media, click on "Manage Photos". It may ask you to accept the terms and conditions, but you should then be able to access any pictures or videos sent that are currently on your phone via the 3rd tab "Messages". I had to play around with it a bit but if you click on the picture or video, you should be able forward it to your email account.
