messages stuck "sending" when I text in mms chains from Samsung to Iphone

I have tried to get this answered many times but it never seems to help.  When I send from my Samsung 9+ to groups of iphones users my texts periodically get stuck sending.  I then have to clear all data from the app and turn my phone on and off.  It then sometimes works and I lose all of the texts that were stuck sending.  It is very frustrating as it now happens multiple times a day.  Below are some of my answers to other chains that i responded to people but never was followed up.

 

This is not an app problem.  I have tried on multiple apps and the same thing happens.  It has been happening for over a year.  It happens periodically when i send from my Samsung S9+ to a group of iphone users.  It happens on multiple chains and only in that situations.  It does not happen when one on one so only when I am sending mms to iphones.  I have uninstalled, force stopped, cleared data, turned on and off phone, replaced phone and anything else i have read other places.  This is a verizon issue.  If there is anyone who could figure this out I would be forever indebted.  I also am a 20 year verizon person who is considering leaving.

Also just to be clear this has nothing to do with wifi.  it is the same if i am on wifi or data.  It just says "sending" and no one sees it.  It also is on the original verizon app that came with the phone.

I have seen numerous forums about this but never an answer from verizon.  It obviously is a verizon problem as it doesnt happen with the same situations on ATT or Sprint but Verizon seems unable to fix it.  I have had the same problem at least 5 years with at least 3 samsung phones

this is a major problem!  it has been ongoing for years with numerous Verizon Samsung phones.   Verizon has NEVER provided a remedy.  please fix this

Google Messages

The preloaded Samsung messaging app

Verizon messages

All time out with MMS on a regular basis

I've been on with support for over an hour. Just got a "please be advised that messaging service is different than live chat service"? What? I'm in Live Chat per their app. single user, person-to-person chat with MMS stopped working as of the outage yesterday. All I get are cut and paste answers here. It's ridiculous.

I am having these exact same issues.  It has been happening for months and unfortunately now it is starting to affect my work.  I'm on a Samsung S10 and have tried using multiple apps; Textra, Google Messages, Samsung Messages, etc.. It is happening daily at this point, as I am on numerous group text strings for work with many iPhone users. Sometimes the message is "sending" for 20-30 minutes before my phone tells me that my message was not delivered and I get 30-40 texts all at once when it has "cleared out".  In that 20-30 minute time frame, I cannot send or receive messages to or from anyone else. I have read about this same issue on many different message boards, and it is very frustrating to not have any official answer for what sounds like a recurring issue.

Hello, being on top of your messages is vital, especially if you are having issues. What recent changes have you made (new apps, software update, new phone upgrade/purchase, moved to new location, etc.)? Aside from the messaging, any other issues (calls/data)?

I have the same issue. I've have an android for years and it's happened no matter what device, no matter what messaging app, no matter what cache clear, setting, or upgrade. I don't understand why this is even an issue, and if it is an issue across multiple users why there isn't a widespread resolution. Simply asking for "private message" is rather irritating. 

People get phones to interact with their friends, their work, their family, etc.  Someone has a major event, a baby is born in the family, a friend gets promoted, a job needs a sudden deadline...all events which can trigger group chats to receive frequent messages, and then boom My messages halt, I cannot receive or send messages for 10, 20, 30 + minutes. Put my $1,000 phone out of commission. I don't know how a Nokia or blackberry from 2012 can handle Group texts better. Really unacceptable. Please provide a widespread resolution. And if you don't have one, explain what the issue is and why it can't be resolved.

Exact same issue here. I've accepted for the last few years blaming it on my S8. Just got the S21 and was so angry to see I have the same issue. Then found this thread. Can't believe it is an ongoing issue for so long without acknowledgment or a solution.

Hello, being on top of your service is vital, especially if you are having messaging issues. We want to make sure this gets addressed. When did the problem start? Aside from upgrading to the S21, any other changes? Aside from the MMS dilemma, any other issues (calls/data)?

Has there been a fix to this obnoxious issue from Verizon beyond, "please send us a private message"? That is an irresponsible response given that this is an on going issue for multiple users, spanning years. As mentioned, it doesn't matter if you're using Wi-Fi or not. The issue occurs regardless of what messaging app is used. Switching default apps does not fix it, nor does changing any connection settings, restarting the phone, or uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Please provide a fix.

As a fellow consumer that has multiple group chats with both iPhone and non iPhone users I know the importance of being able to send the group messages. There have been times were I experience a similar issue but it is only brief and my messages send a minute or two later. We would like to troubleshoot your device a bit more to determine what is causing this problem, but first, allow us to gather more information. Are you experiencing the messaging issue with all the group messages or only a few? Is the problem at random? Which messaging apps have you tried using?
