I was checking my account and see a text being sent by me at 1:34 today that I did not send. Is there any rational explanation for this? There is nobody else who could have sent it and it wasn't me, nor was there a text send. Period.

Seeing an unexpected message sent from your phone can certainly be concerning Donnalu. Just to clarify, were you looking at your text messaging history online via My Verizon? Was the text sent to a number in your contact list or an unknown number?

Yes, I was looking at the messages on 'my account' and saw a message sent
from 'home' to the phone, which would have been a text from my gmail
account.

Let's continue to investigate donnalu. Messages that are sent from your Gmail account would be considered an email. Can you clarify if you are referring to text messages or emails? Are you also using the stock messaging app on your phone or a third party messaging app for text messages?
Thank You,

Sounds to me as if an app has permission to send or use the messaging app to send SMS, which would really be the only explanation if you are certain you and no one else has actually sent a message from the device.... Check the permissions on 3rd party apps that have been downloaded and see which ones have permissions to not only access your messaging but to also send SMS as well....

I can send an email to the phone with Gmail using a vtext.com address, and
husband texts me back.
He cannot initiate a text to the pc/gmail account, only can receive and
answer them.

Donnalu, getting to the bottom of this mystery has proven to be a challenge. You mentioned the use of vtext, have you checked the home email account for outgoing messages on that date and near that time?
