As noted by my check, I have a similar problem, but it relates only to new voice mail ... the number of new voice mails, or the fact I actually have any...does not appear on the app icon.  I only know if I check the notification bar.  Missed call, texts, and e-mail indicators work fine, just not new voicemail.  Thanks.

Making sure you get notified properly about all new voicemail, text, email and other data is important Billb1111 .What phone do you have? Is the software and apps on your phone up to date? When did your issue start?
