phone won't send text messages

I'm having issues with my phone at times not sending my text messages.  I've turned my phone off several times and it still says sending.  I've had this issue for 2 days now.  I recently did the latest update that was available.  What is wrong and how do I fix it?

Are you using Verizon Messages?  If so, there are numerous threads on the forum with various issues reported due the last two updates.  A third update was released today, v.6.4.3.

Yes, I am using Verizon Messages.  I checked for an update and it says that I'm current.  Will I receive this 3rd update today, tomorrow or next week maybe?

You had a great idea to start with trying to reboot your phone, ANGDAY99. I know how frustrating it is to be without your messages and appreciate your efforts and patience. As tikibar1 mentioned there have been a number of updates over the past few days for the Message+ application. Which model phone do you use? Have you been able to install the latest update to v6.4.3? Are you still running into the trouble with texting today?

I never received this update.  I still can't send messages to to my husband it's hung up which in turn means I can't send messages to anyone. I need to be able to text my husband and daughter.  My daughter is going through a rough time at the moment.

ANGDAY99, thanks for all of your patience. We know this has been frustrating for you. In order to uninstall the latest update you can go into Setiings> Apps> Manage Applications> Messages> Uninstall the latest update. Please let us know if this works for you.

All I can find on my phone is I have this software upgrade which was done on Feb 1. G920VVRS4CQA3

It's not a phone update, it's an app update.  To check the current version, open Verizon Messages, tap the Menu (the three bars in the upper left-hand corner), tap About, and you should get a pop-up with the current version.

To check for app updates, open the Play Store app, tap the Menu (three bars in the upper left-hand corner), tap My Apps & Games, and see if Verizon Messages is listed under apps with Updates.  If it is, tap it and then tap Update.

I have the current app v6.4.4 and it still doesn't work. The only way I can send a text message is through the Verizon website.

You proble both need to be on the Internet mines doing the same with me and my mother I've never had to have the Internet on to text before this is crazy I know how you feel I'm a coach for my daughters school and I communicate with my parents threw text!

I'm connected through Wifi when I send my text messages.  Can you not be connected to Wifi anymore? If that's the case then we get screwed because we have to use up our data just to text.  No one else in my family has this issue, but me.

We want to make sure you are all set with your messages. I use my phone to text all the time and I know how important it is to have it. To clarify, are you stating that you can not send a text while using WiFi services? What kind of phone do you have? Where you ever able to do this before?

My phone Samsung SM-G920V MMB29K.G920VVRS4CQA3 app vers 6.4.4. I can’t send text using the Wifi. I had to uninstall and re-install the app yesterday.  Everything has been working fine.  I turn on my Wifi at work and it won’t allow text messages to send.  I have to use my data in order for that to happen. This has always worked up until this last update.

Since I wrote that...I have had to uninstall the application and go back to

the original factory settings.

Lost the cool emoji but at least my texts are going through. Hopefully

there's a fix to this. Best - Melissa

My phone is doing the same garbage now too.  Ive rebooted it, unistalled messenger+ and reinstalled it, still not working
