My wife has about 50 pictures on her phone, which she wants to keep. She's on pay-as-you-go messaging. If I upload them to the "MyPix" or whatever it's called that Verizon offers, do we need to pay for each picture (at $0.25/each)? If so, it would be cheaper to start a photo-messaging package for a month. Or does uploading not count as a message? Thanks.

With that many it would be cheaper to go for the text pkg for a month. You would have to pay .25 cents for each photo.

Thank you Minniehaha for your response. You are correct in saying that sending the pictures to the online album (formerly Pix Place) will incur a $0.25 charge for each picture message sent.
@blew1000,
Since your wife does not have a messaging plan she will be charged $0.25 for each picture she sends to the online album. You mentioned she has 50 pictures on her phone so she will incur a total charge of $12.50 to send the pictures from her phone to the online album. If she wants to send them back to the new phone she would be billed another $12.50 to send them back to the new phone. That's a total charge of $25.00.
It would be cheaper to add the $10.00 messaging plan for the month. This plan includes 1000 messages to any carrier in the USA. This would be more than enough to cover the usage. You can add this plan online via your My Verizon account. Make sure to backdate the plan to the beginning of the cycle so she gets the full allowance. If she adds it during the middle of her bill cycle the messaging allowance will be prorated.
I hope you find this information helpful.
