text messaging (SMS)

So today I logged into the web-browser text messaging interface for Verizon and the site tells me: "The ability to send and receive text messages in Verizon's website will be discontinued on 12/11/23."

......Just another of several reasons currently pressing me to change carriers.

We're sad to see you are considering leaving. Please tell us, is there a particular reason as to why you like accessing your messages from our website? Do you have access to the actual smartphone? ~Geo

As @tikibar1 suggested, I installed Google Messages and paired my phone to the desktop Google Messages without issue.  It seamlessly read/sees all my Verizon Message+ messages.  It appears so far to be working well as a replacement both on my phone and accessing the messaging service on my desktop.  I will check later today to see/verify Google Messages works properly with Android Auto in my Jeep Wrangler.
