Unauthorized mobile device protection added to my account

I added a new device to my phone plan and specifically declined any mobile protection plan. I was informed what my new monthly bill would be and clarified that there were no additional fees. I have 5 other devices on this plan and none of them have the mobile protection plan. I just got my first bill and sure enough, I was charged for the mobile protection plan on the new device that I did not authorize or approve. When I contacted customer service, they were only willing to give be $10 back for the $26 they falsely charged me for a service I declined and didn't use. I can see on this forum that this has been an ongoing problem and I am so disappointed in being deceived and the hassle of dealing with customer service for over an hour to get a $10 credit was insulting.
