Family Base Problem

I have four phones on my account that I manage through family base. It worked fine until we reactivated an old iPhone 5 on the account. Now I can't set data limits on that phone. I get the same error message "usage limits failed" every time. The other three phones work fine. This has been going on now for the last three months. Verizon support and Tier 2 have been zero help. They have no clue how to fix the problem. Last I heard they were sending the "ticket" to the "software team". Since then it's been radio silence. In the mean time what Verizon reports as data usage for the offending phone and what they bill me at the end of the month don't jive. When my bill came it showed the phone in question had use 6GB of data. The website was reporting to me that it had used .79 GB. A quick call got the overage charge off the bill but the problem still exists and no one seems to be able to help. Anybody else out there have this problem and if so can you help me? Verizon doesn't seem to be able to. BTW, the family base app for the iPhone does not work well for me at all. Anyone else agree with that assessment?

iPhones do not work with FamilyBase really well at all. I have an iPhone and an Android and I can manage my Android way better than my iPhone. Not really sure what to tell you bud... Sorry Smiley Sad

Cmoore99, thank you for reaching out, as we never want you to feel ignored. As a customer with 2 iPhones on Family Base I can attest to it working for Apple products. We need to figure out why the usage limit doesn't seem to take for that line. How are you setting the limit? (using the My Verizon Mobile app or via My Verizon online) Do you save the limit after setting it, and restart the phone for it to take?

I've tried multiple things to get it to work. We've turned the phone off, set the limit and then turned it back on. Nothing ever works. Las I heard they were sending the problem to the "software programmers" . That was months ago. Now when my data goes over the limit I call Verizon and accuse them of DTPA and voila the overage goes away. I just checked my data usage for the month. It sets at 5 and some change. When I get my bill tomorrow it will be way more than that. Just watch.

Hi Roseanne, I don't see any private message on how to continue or fix the problem. It still exists and Verizon doesn't seem to give two hoots about the problem. As previously discussed the phone that won't set data limits or even report data usage is an iPhone 5. At this point I really don't care if it does or doesn't get fixed because I'm not going to pay for any overage. As a good paying customer I expect Verizon to fix it. If they can't they can just eat it.
