Set phone to make/receive calls only

I would like to set up my old Droid Maxx to be our "house" phone so if something happens my son can use it.  However i want it to only be able to make/receive calls and not give him access to all apps or store, etc...   Is this possible?  We tried an old flip phone but that thing is hard to use and he knows how to use a smartphone (my wife and i both have Galaxy S8's).

I know how important it is to have restrictions on this device, Lancemason. Unfortunately, this device does not have the ability to set up restrictions for phone, text, app or data usage. We do offer FamilyBase and Usage controls to set up limits and restrictions.
