Text from 909-837-7761 received at half past midnight.
Your entry last month has WON! Go to BESTBUYWIN.NET enter your winning code 5555 to claim your free $1000 Best Buy gift card within 24 hours.
Any way, I used network solutions to find who owns the domain Best Buy Win Dot Net - guess what - they are protected by WhoisGuard - so THEIR information is never public and THEY are protected from spam. The public information of this web site is protected by WhoisGuard 661-310-2107 11400 W. Olympic Blvd. Suite 200, Los Angeles, CA 90064. That is the best I could do.
Verizon Wireless, please work with Best Buy, WhoisGuard et. al. and put an end to this. Please see Best Buy forum for other numbers being used:

One, ya 'won' something

ALL four (4) of my family cell phones got this text as well; each with different "winning" numbers and links.
Did someone randomly get all of my numbers - or is there a leak at Verizon??? 😕

It's called robotext just like robocalls. For example my area code is 731 now in my town all Verizon numbers start with 441. This information is public. So a spammer can easily get a program that auto texts every number from 0000-9999 and do it in minutes

I have rec'd test similar to the ones described here and I find the delete button is the best response.
Rather than wasting to much time on this, hit the delete button take your spouse out for a nice dinner and a movie. Makes for a MUCH more enjoyable evening.

I got two text messages similar to that one. I used the search function on this community to find the short code for SPAM (7726) set up by Verizon Wireless. Once I found it, I fowarded both messages to VZW and followed the additional instructions given.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I wouldn't mind so much but if you're not on a texting plan you gotta PAY 0.20 each for this dribble. Thank God I only get em once every other month or so. Just got one yesterday. Sigh.
