Hello,
I decided to see what it would cost to add a second line and second phone to my current plan. I currently have 3GB of DATA and I am making monthly payments on an iPhone 6S. I wanted to switch my girlfriend to my plan from her carrier and decided to see what it would cost. I went online and added a device and it said my bill would only go up to $122.24 from about $112 of what I currently pay. I was really excited, this would be a new phone for her and not much more than what I currently pay. I have an 18% employee discount and everywhere I looked it said my bill would only increase to $122.24.
Well I went to my email account and found an email saying my bill will increase $166.53! What's this nonsense? Maybe I was naive to believe my bill would only go up a little for a new phone & shared plan, but I figured my discount was working well for my favor and I figured this was some sort of discount for having two phones on one plan. However, the website listed my bill would only increase to $122.24. Was I stupid to believe what the website was saying? It seems like a bait and switch to me. Nowhere did it say my bill would be an extra $44.29. I wouldn't have agreed to that. What the hell Verizon. I have the confirmation receipt to prove it.
I get where the price comes, it says $91 for two devices, and you add the $31.24 for the new iPhone, it adds up to $122.24. However below that it says I save $39.00 in "employee monthly savings". So perhaps this is my fault, but this is very deceiving. Nowhere listed my actual bill increase. Ugh.

New Verizon plan 3gb after discount-36.90
two lines charges at 20=40
two phone payment plans=62.48
total=139.38 plus tax
Current plan 3gb after discount =41
Two line charges at 25=50
Two phones payment plan=62.48
Total =153 plus tax
it is not 122 like they promised however it is cheaper than the plan your on.
The picture you sent doesn't have a good enough breakdown to figure out what they weren't adding.

This month's bill is higher at $189 and some change, than after that it says my bill will be $166.53. I'm okay with an activation fee, I'm not okay with my bill saying it will be $122 online, but then I get an email saying it's going to be $166.53.

Your service is 122 a month. I don't believe it takes into account what your paying for the phones monthly.

Here, this is what it says
So during the whole process of me ordering the second phone, it kept saying $122.24 is going to be my monthly bill. It says on my receipt for 2 devices and everything. I would have no issues if it listed the ACTUAL monthly bill, but it wasn't factoring my current device payments which is very misleading to me, the end consumer.

Yeah, it just irks me that they kept pointing out the low monthly plan then send me an email with the real monthly plan after I purchased the phone. It's a deceiving practice, either on purpose or by accident. Verizon should fix it. I'm not a complete bone head, I feel stupid for believing my plan was going to be that cheap, but c'mon, at least list the real bill once before I purchase my second device.

Thanks guys, I talked to Verizon customer support. I'm switching to the new verizon plan to help save on my bill. It's not a perfect solution, but it should drop my bill by $20+.
