A couple weeks ago I blocked 802 284 4139 because of a scam. Today I had to block 207 710 0712 because I received the same scam message. Does verizon look into these scams or do I have to keep blocking them as they happen?

I'm glad you're already taking steps to avoid receiving those unwanted calls again, xlchjoe. As Snn5 mentioned, many times those spam callers will change their number through spoofing http://spr.ly/65847iFe to get their calls through to your phone. Numbers constantly changing is a key element to how these spam calls get around blocking one number.  Using an app from a respective app store can really help block known spam numbers reported to the community of that app and national databases.
