Canceling an order made at Best Buy

I ordered a phone from Best Buy and supposed to get it today. However, because of what seems to be some sticky fingers from someone responsible for getting the phone shipped to me, I'll never get that phone as it's now gone. I contacted Best Buy about it and they said they're going to give me a refund for what I paid, which was the $40 service change fee.

However, Verizon now has me listed as having my new phone and expects me to pay the monthly fee for said phone until it's paid off. I'm not complaining about that as that's to be expected, given that they don't know what happened. What I need to know is what I need to do to get that recurring monthly fee removed, as I don't have that phone and will never get it, as it's gone.

I think you should go back to best buy and they should investigate what happened to the phone and fix this.  Was it stolen before it left the warehouse or something?

Best Buy has already taken care of it on their end. Pretty quickly, too, which I'm quite happy about. 🙂 I think it was stolen by someone at the carrier responsible for its delivery but that's just speculation. I just want to make sure Verizon knows I don't have the new phone and doesn't bill me the monthly cost. They've been in contact with me so hopefully it'll be taken care of quickly.

Wow sad to hear.  Have ordered phones and lots from best buy and thankfully haven't seen that.  Mary
