Cell # Spoofed?

Newbie

I received a msg telling me my number has called them. I did not make the call and my phone showed no record of an outgoing calls

They sent me a screenshot showing my number.

I also got a message on my iPad showing that another device had been connected.  Not sure if it is related but I turned off "Calls on other devices" just in case.  Is there anything I can do about this?

Karengro22, I would also be concerned to hear my number was being used as a spoof number. Unfortunately, there is not a way for us to prevent a number from being used as spoofed number. If you are receiving a lot of complaints regarding your number calling their line, you do have the option to change your mobile number at any time. You may always change your mobile number free of charge online via My Verizon. For additional information click, http://vz.to/1mz6lBH

There isn't a way to prevent others from spoofing by altering their outgoing caller ID number to display yours, it fortunately wouldn't affect your account, so the iPad message wouldn't have been related to that. (Devices nearby could connect, such as thru bluetooth, mobile hotspot, or remotely such as with integrated calls/messages if set up from your actual phone.)
