Disappointed

I have been a Verizon customer for several years now. I purchased a Samsung galaxy a year ago. The phone has been a lemon. I am very disappointed in this phone. I have contacted Verizon several times and of course I can purchase a new one. I rely on my phone for everything. We don't have a house line and I drive a distance to work. The phone now only works if it's plugged in. I can't keep it plugged in 24 hours so I go without. Being that I only had the phone a year I reach out for help and all I am being told is buy a new one spend more money. My contract is up in September.  I am going to look into other wireless service who buy out contracts and see if they can help me. This is my first disappointment in Verizon. Now I see it's all about the money.

Please stop saying to pay the deductible for a device. There are only certain times that a deductible is collected by the insurance company. That is when there is physical or liquid damage or the device has been lost or stolen. If none of these are true the insurance company will do nothing.

If you have Total Equipment Coverage or Total Mobile Protection then you have an extended warranty on the device and Verizon should replace it at no charge if it is not damaged. If only have the Wireless Protection Plan then you do not get the extended warranty.

If you are talking about the Princeton store at Mercer Mall, I know this store and MOST of the employees very well. If you are eligible for a warranty replacement (TEC or TPP) then they would send it to you.

Naansalad,

You are correct in suggesting the insurance route. However, let's look at the phone in more detail. When did you start having these issues? What have you done so far regarding your phone?

I have talent the phone several times to the Verizon store in Princeton WV. Each time I have went it was a different person. They have all tried something different but never have any answers. I started having issues with the phone after having it about 2 months. The problems have just intensified. Now I can't use my phone at all unless it is plugged in. Even at 100% charge  I can send 1 or 2 text and it just shuts off on me. Or if I get a phone call sometimes it Will let me answer and talk a couple mins and there is times it just shuts off when it starts ringing. When the phone shuts off it will not turn back on until it is plugged into a power source. Sometimes I have to take the battery out first then have it plugged in before it will power back on.  When I first got the phone I was able to get on the Internet with the 3g or 4g. After about 3 months of having the phone I can only get on Internet if I'm hooked to WiFi. I can't even use my phone when traveling to look up directions. Now the only time anyone can get ahold of me is when I am home and can keep it plugged into a power source. It is hit and miss if texts will come through to me or if I can send any out. I pay almost 200.00 a month for 3 phones and I can't even use mine. I feel as if I am throwing money away.

I'm not sure the exact insurance I have on the phone. The Princeton store I am talking about is the one next to Walmart on greasy ridge.

The first thing is to find out exactly what insurance you are paying for.

A good rule of thumb is to ALWAYS know what you are paying for. Not just when it comes to this but everything. Before you hand anyone money you should know exactly what you are paying for.

Please find out what insurance you have. You can see it on your bill where it is broken down as charges by line.

Report back on this.
