iowaman: Congratulations!! You are one of the first people I've seen in about three weeks of reading posts on this topic who is actually saving money with the new Share Everything plan. Better watch out, though.  Now that Verizon knows who you are, they'll come up with some way to shaft you, too.

We have been customers for close to 20 years now..... I don't use much GB (The highest I have used is 4gb & that was when I first purchased my Driod-lots of apps to DL), but I do like the peace-of-mind it gives me to know that I have UNLIMITED data. Now, there is NO unlimited data choice....? And the data plan I choose for my family will be shared... I would rather stick to my $30 unlimited dollar plan.

I was PROMISED over and over again by customer service and in-store employees that I have been grandfathered in and that I will never have to worry in the future about losing my unlimited data plan.

So, Verizon, where do I sign up to continue with my unlimited data plan?

Looking on Sprint.com right now......

I contacted Verizon no attemt bargin throw a bone or anything.  "We would hate to lose you" but... oh well.  They (Verizon Wireless) just don't seem to get it.  Yes, I do have a choice, and I will be voting via my wallet.  In my case they don't want me to buy a phone from them, (either I loose my current plan and/or unlimited data and will cost me more per month event to share just 1GB) so I won't upgrade my phone(s) and when my contract runs out... well there you go.  Within in a couple years they will lose enough customers to acutally be able to support them.

Technically, Verizon has still kept their word. You can still keep your unlimited, only you have to buy a phone at full retail price. With the ridiculous prices of the new Share Everything plan, it'll probably be cheaper to buy a phone at full retail and keep your unlimited plan than switching over to Share Everything and pay $50-$100 dollars more a month for less data and worry about overages. But of course, there is always the option to shop around for other carriers like you have stated.

Verizon has a strong lead in 4g LTE, they are going to milk it now

No where you can go will offer anything close to speeds

Until the customers get over there and see that it's just dirt painted green, not grass.

I would beg to differ.  My friend at work has AT&T and his HSPA+ is just as fast as my LTE.  When we are at work, his connection speed averages 6 to 8 MBPS and I can usually cruise along at 7 MBPS.  This is why AT&T has been touting HSPA+ as 4G.  They are on par with Verizon.  Verizon needs to increase network speeds to put a bigger gap between us and them.

I'm with you.

I had 900 minutes, unlimited texts, and 4GB data with hotspot (I travel about 5 days out of each month and needed the hotspot, but only used a fraction of the data). Total plan price is $130.  Moving to Share Everything and using only 1GB of data, my bill is $40 cheaper and, in fact, cheaper than what I was paying at T-Mobile (with far more reliable service).

I did the math as soon as the plans were announced and made the change first thing yesterday morning.

Omg! Do the plan calculator on the Share Everything Plan detail page!! People like to whine and say everyone else is "unintelligible" when they are the ones who cant figure out the simplest of things!! Do the analyzer- it will tell you exactly what you'll be paying! How could you POSSIBLY have missed that feature?!?!?!??! Oh yeah, rushing to judgement, anger, and whining!  And to all the other whiners: if ur smartphone is going to cst u $40 on the share everything plan and so is ur other smartphone, guess what???? The first smartphone before cost like $129.95 for unltd t&t!! This plan will wind up costing u the same if u really PAY ATTENTION to all charges:- the ones that increase AND the ones that DECREASE!! U will benefit becuz you'll be paying a llittle less and getting a lot more options of usage!! Why  is this so hard? I knew all this before I worked for Verizon and long after I have.
