Does Verizon Wireless Charge for INCOMING international calls? Yes or no?
FrustratedVZCUST

I got hit with $203 worth of charges from Australia. The Rep said the charges were from RECEIVING a phone call. I am on an unlimited plan paying $130 a month after a corporate discount.

Is this accurate?

If so, F Verizon, time to move to T-Mobile whose network is better anyway

That doesn't sound correct. See item 10 in the link.

@Ann154 I can see no charge if the number calling in was a US based number outside of the country vs a local one. The FAQ doesn't specify if it would make a difference.

@FrustratedVZCUST I'd check out the pdf copy of your bill and review the charges yourself.

To clarify, the bill insinuates that the callers were from landlines from AUS

Additionally, i have absolutely no recollection of getting these calls and the times indicate it was in the middle of the night in AUS.

none of this adds up but my question stands. Does VZ charge its long-standing corporate plan customers (or others for that matter) for calls that originate outside of the country?

Here are the bill details. I DO NOT HAVE A LANDLINE. The rep last night insisted this means that the call originated from Australia. That makes little to no sense to me.

Origination:  (redacted for privacy), MA Landline

Destination: Australia

Minutes: 44

Airtime Charges: --

LD Charges: 109.56

They also put around $100 in regulatory fees on the bill on top of this call and another AUS call

The way this is written reads to me as the call oriented in the USA and was dialing Australia. Why the VZW rep is saying it was a call from Australia to the USA doesn't make sense to me. Do you recognize the origination phone number? Since you have a corporate account there might be other reasons you were billed this way that personal accounts aren't, but I'm not familiar with what those differences could be.

We would be happy to look into this with you! Was this an International Number, or a US number who is traveling outside the US?

If you're calling Australia from the US then you will be charged. If you receive a call from outside the US, you won't be charged.
