I’m thinking of leaving Verizon after 15 years as there are no good upgrade deals for existing customers. AT&T is offering me up to $700 per new line if I switch with a 2 year commitment. Verizon’s best deals are only to attract new customers. Why should I have to switch to a carrier to be given a better deal by my longstanding carrier? This creates a perverse incentive to defect to AT&T. Why would Verizon treat loyal customers worse than new customers? Very disappointing.

AT&T customers probably feel the same way. Switch then when it's time for a new phone again switch back for verizons incentives is probably all you can do. Cable company is the same way, incentives for new customers. I buy my phones at best buy so watch the deals there. With Christmas coming I am sure there will be some good ones as my husband could use a new phone.

Would seem to me deals should apply to customers and new customers maybe just a matter of finding deal in different stores and offerings for holidays

Thanks. However, AT&T does give existing customers the incentive deal if they sign on for another two years. Only Verizon treats their loyal customers differently. Sad.

Seems a shame that current customers don't get much in deals as a new customer incentive does

Then all the more reason to switch to AT&T and stay with them. I don't want to make phone payments so those deals would probably do me no good unless it's a discount for paying cash. Mary

You are so right. I noticed AT&T clearly advertises on their home page that current customers get the same deal as that being offered to attract new customers. Verizon touts the opposite on theirs. I’m looking to switch as I’m not in a contract and recently out $500 having bought and received invalid, worthless gift cards directly from Verizon. Whatever you do, do not buy Verizon gift cards from Verizon. Monopoly money has more value.
