False Advertising / Bait & Switch!

I have been loyal to Verizon since 1994 or 95, but I'm not feeling the same loyalty in return. I have spoken with numerous employees regarding the recent 'Broken Phone. Broken Rules. $1000 off.' promotion that I learned about via recurring tv advertisements. HOWEVER, when I've tried to take advantage of the promotion, I have repeatedly been shot down, redirected, steered to other promotions, denied it's existence, told I didn't understand the ad, and that many customers have come in to the retail store I went for the exact same promotion, but the rep said he turned them away as well for the same reasons. I even had a supervisor make up his own fine print and requirements that were not included in the ad.

I have attempted to have this matter addressed and resolved by escalations and corporate, leaving numerous messages (including with said supervisor), requesting a return call, yet I have not received a single phone call, message or any attempt to resolve this misguided and extremely frustrating issue. This leads me to wonder what's really going on here!?

So, with that being said, exactly what do I need to do to get assistance with this issue and to have the promotion honored, as advertised?! I've never felt so ignored or had such a hard time having my message(s) returned and/or receiving followed up contact. I've also never hit so many brick walls just trying to speaking with someone so I can receive help to resolve an ongoing issue. Where is the return loyalty? Where is the integrity?? I'm just trying to resolve this matter in the "family", but I can only do so if Verizon is willing to cooperate and communicate with me, which, thus far, they have not!

Thank you!

Mary, how do you know he didn't meet those requirements?

I never said he didn't.  Was just stating what the terms were that I found online.  If he is doing exactly this don't get why they won't let him but who knows with verizon these days.  One reason I buy my phone else where and not worry about these deals.  Especially when most seem to be getting stiffed on the trade in.  I keep my old phone for a back up and ones older than that I donate to someone in need that needs it just to call 911 in certain situations.  I think you can still call 911 without being connected to a carrier.

I know the terms. Has nothing to do with the problem I'm experiencing.

Hope they give you the promotion.  Not right to advertise that then change the rules when you apply.

buttercup10 We certainly appreciate your loyalty and don't want you feeling ignored or frustrated. Having said that, every promotion does have requirements that must be meet to qualify. I will be happy to review the available options on your account. I have sent a private message here on this platform.

The issue was not the requirements, per se. It was actually acknowledging the promotion, as well as making up requirements that are not otherwise stated.
