Google Voice and Verizon OneTalk

What's the advantage of Verizon OneTalk over Google Voice which is integrated into my Verizon device.

With Google Voice, I set any number to call and they all ring at once. Whichever device answers first, the others stop ringing. This works on tablets too as long as the hangouts app is running over WIFI.

Google Voice also works when I've traveling, even on another SIM card, as long as it has a connected of any kind.

Here are some benefits I find useful:

  • Respond to and serve its customers with immediacy, win more business and never miss a customer call or opportunity.
  • Reduce costs.
  • Prepare its business for a shift to mobile in a phased approach of their choosing, and transition its company to mobility now.
  • Fully include mobile users in all intra-company voice and video communication with common business phone features.
  • Learn features once and use them across all its One Talk devices.
  • Manage its One Talk subscribers and services within My Business, while end users manage their features in My Verizon

Overall, I think there is more customization with One Talk VS Google Voice. But I also don't know much about Google Voice.

Since your business would have to PAY Verizon before you would actually be able to use the Verizon One Talk app, I can't see ANY benefits to this app vs Google Voice.

The ONLY advantage is to Verizon and that is in the fees they would collect from your business being a subscriber and purchasing the (I'm sure) overpriced phones needed before the app would be fully functional.

So, my business has signed up for Verizon onetalk months ago and our business has been steadily declining since that first day. The reason for this is because onetalk rarely works. It's constantly unavailable, will not let phone calls through, will not let any phone calls be transferred, will not ring and Verizon seems to have no idea what to do to fix it and yes they've been called and numerous times. Before my experience with one talk I would have recommended Verizon to all my friends and family, but after seeing the way Verizon has treated the my business, I have absolutely changed my mind.

It took Verizon over two months to get our business set up with Verizon service and another 2 to give the most terrible treatment and unusable services ever. During the holidays all of our scheduled appointments were dropped due to Verizon having too many holiday customers signing up for services that's funny because we signed up long before the holiday season. I'm not going to only mean that they'll go ahead and drop existing paying customers on their face because other people are deemed more important!! Also, the first Tech (and only Tech to ever come out) to assess and set up our business services ended up disappearing (literally to never be seen or heard from again) setting the entire system up backwards or not at all and then we were left on our own to fix and finish. Also we were charged full rate for all these months where verizon refused to help us get connected to be able to have telephones of any kind, and our phones were not working. Did I mention the technician somehow wound up getting and charging us 3-4 extra phones that we never even wanted or ordered, and again yes had to pay for them as well as still pay monthly charges all the lines we don't even use or never even opened the box? Also, I want to add the Verizon has never offered an apology, never offered any bill credits for the service that we could never use but, of course had to pay full price for.

What an absolutely terrible experience!! As a woman who's not into much technology, I, without a doubt, I could have done better using wifi and free apps from the App Store. I just wanted to thank Verizon for losing us so much business and making us look like jerks to our wonderful customers. May you reap what you sow.

Acrillix,

I'm pretty sure each one of those points you had  listed is blown completely Sky High and out of the water. Truly hope you went with Google my friend.
