Holiday BOG0

I was originally a at and t customer, but when I seen the holiday bogo I decided to switch to Verizon. I transfered my number over and started a new line for my second line thinking id just transfer whoevers number I decided to give the second phone to (probably a mistake)

I decided to give the phone to my mother an existing verizon member, and attempted to transfer her number to the second line. There was some confusion I guess and her number transfered as a third line.

I attempted to contact customer support again to try to rectify the situation, but was told the bogo would no longer apply if I removed the line with the original new number.

Im curious whether this is because of confusion regarding the line transfer and there being a third line, or because shes an existing customer

Thank you!

Existing lines don't qualify for BOGO. What you had done was a transfer of service from an existing Verizon line to another Verizon account which isn't creating a 3rd line, but her actual line from the previous account.

In order for a BOGO deal to work, her existing line would be the BUY phone and your AT&T line would be the GET phone. The other way around would have worked. Dunno if you're able to undo this. The second line can be replaced by a number from another carrier still, though.

Do customer service reps typically respond to these posts or is it purely community members

Sometimes community members know more is my opinion.  You should have talked to verizon before doing it this way to make sure it was done right.    Hopefully they can sort it out.

I definitely have no doubts the community is knowledgeable its just alot to verbalize to a representative

Hi there, Jayquant29. We know all of this can seem quite confusing, but no worries we are here to help. When purchasing phones on the BOGO promotion, one line must be a new line of service. Transferring your mother's current line from one existing Verizon account to another does not count as a new line of service. When you disconnect that new line, you will lose all credits that go with the BOGO promotion. That is why you are unable to remove this new line. Does this information clear up any confusion?

Only certain Verizon employees can respond to these posts. Did the information in the previous post help to clarify things for you?
