How can cell phone number to port to Defense Mobile?

Attempting to port my cell phone number [removal required by the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service] to Defense Mobile since 4-9-2016? Defense Mobile states they are waiting for a reponse

Porting can take 3 or more days to fully complete, especially to a smaller carrier.  Usually, the new provider is the one to contact to push the port through.

call Defense Mobile and ask them to call old provider to get answer....
