I am currently stationed in Japan and have had some issues with a billing error as I ordered phones for use while I was on leave last July. I was told that I could activate them once I arrived in the states, however, when I did try to activate them they would not work. I then went to a Verizon store where the representative informed me that I was not in the system and registered the devices under my husbands account. A week later I received a bill for $932 due to deactivation. I went back to a corporate store and they stated I have had no data or minutes used during the two months between when I ordered the phones and when I was able to take leave. I have spoken to the customer service desk and I was informed that all I would need to do is to fax my orders and leave paper and the issue would be resolved. I have done this three times and the collection has shown up on my credit report. How do I fix this issue?
