I don't know if it can be removed, but you can turn it off (or just don't turn it on)..

ron302,

A mobile hotspot is an awesome feature to share your phone's data plan and mobile connection with other devices, and it is included at no charge on all current plans. If you really want it totally gone, check out this video on how to remove features like that: http://vz.to/2d6PeXz .  And, just like SuzyQ suggested, you can always just choose not to turn it on to begin with.
