I have a question on using wi-fi on my iPhone in a foreign country outside the US

So I'm in South Korea and I temporarily disconnected my service in the US before I left. So I don't have the roaming or anything. But I could still connect to wi-fi on my iPhone. But here's the question though... Will i get charged if i send emails and chat with my friends on aim or something with wi-fi?

The great thing is that you will not! When using wifi, your phone is using a data service from the internet provider and not any type of phone company. Wifi is free (of any Verizon customers)  and unlimited to use no matter what country you go to
