Verizon can but won't. You know why? Because they don't have to, and they do not need to.
If you find a provider that offers you the same service for less, switch to that provider.
Verizon does not price match, and most likely never will

True Verizon is not price matching with this new More Everything promotion. But they have come close on EDGE you can now get 4 smartphones and 10GB of data for $180. Which if you consider the Verizon network (in general) is better than AT&T then the extra $20 per month is a reasonable trade off for some. But for others perhaps not.
I called and spoke to AT&T. The woman told me I can enter a 2 yr contract and pay the 15 a line. I have covered all my bases. I am prepared to jump if my hand is forced.... So far, the post I made on the Facebook pg is getting dumb responses: the more edge, do u have an employee discount.... A bunch of nonsense like that. I know what I have, I know what is available to me. I would not be going through this otherwise. (Comment meant for Verizon) I appreciate the help from the posters here. I love my service, but my money spends anywhere. I have 10 lines of service, on the 10 gig data share plan. That is $440 plus fees and whatnots with Verizon. The same lines on AT&T is 280 with 15 gigs, or $250 with 10 gigs , plus the fees. Seems like a no brainer to me.....
I spent a long time asking the AT&T sales person these questions and in the end that sales person told me if I use the 2 year contract I would not actually see the $160 for all four of my phones until after the two year contract was completed. If I used Next I would not see that price until the devices were paid off (approximately 2 years).
The sales person (after an hour back and fourth) told me straight up that only way I would actually see the $160 per month right away is if I purchase all four smartphones at full retail price up front, any other way besides that I would pay more than $160 per month for two years (less if I paid off the balance on my phones early).
The Lady at AT&T is not lying to you but you she is also not disclosing the face that they will tack on $25 more per phone for two year time frame... After that each phone line will be the $15 as described. I know because I spent a good hour last week with the AT&T sales rep figuring all this out. If you take the 2 year contract price for you new devices your bill will be more than 280 with 15 gigs, or $250 with 10 gigs , plus the fees for year one and two, because you will in essence be charged $15 for smartphone access +$25 per month ($40) to cover the cost of the phones over the two year contract and that time you will no longer be charged $25.... No service provider gives way a phone for free.... They make you pay for the phone one way or another.....
I'm at the point of needing to replace 3-4 phones of my phones. If I signed new 2 year contracts, the phones would still cost me about $200 each, so paying for the phones up front at AT&T would cost an additional $300 to $400 each after the $100 per line rebate. It looks like I would break even in 12-18 months with AT&T. Considering my current phones are 3 years old, it looks like AT&T is a no brainer.
I am glad you got the information you needed and I am glad to see that you realize you will have to purchase your phones up front to get the discounted smartphone access fee (i think a lot of people are missing that fact). Even if you go to the website and select the 2 year contract option it clearly shows that the smartphone access fee is $40 each month plus data, but when you select the Next option or the no contract option it shows the line access fee as $40 and depending on your data plan it then shows a $15-25 credit will be applied to you billing statement so that your net smartphone access charge is $15 or $25.
Hey good luck with AT&T and who knows maybe you get a nice tax return that will help buffer the cost of you new phones!!!
I also am disappointed that the device cost is $40.00 per month(smartphone) access. I switched from T-mobile and now have sticker shock. Verizon may have gotten a new customer for the 2 years but I will seriously look at other plans with other carriers before renewing with Verizon.
I just got my bill and the 50 bucks they said I would be paying here at Verizon was 118 bucks. They said they had to add this and that and I said the ONLY charge I was told was the 32 bucks for discontinuing an old Smart phone and signing up with my own phone. They now say the plan they signed me up on is no longer "available" that is the 6th time I have went thru this with Verizon. so to answer the question about ATT there is no way Verizon cares to make any changes that they will "lose" money on. T-Mobil, Wal-mart's plans are much better the Verizon but in the end the big V has you and I stuck to a 2 year plan so they have no worries.
How can you have sticker shock pricing is CLEARLY stated. The plans are very simple there are 2 parts. Line access and account access. Which of these 2 parts were confusing for you?
