Is Verizon's service down

my phone's service went down about an hour ago and I am wondering if it is just in the Cottage Grove, OR area?

What has happened if you do not see any problems everyone with Verizon in our town is without service.

It is my understanding that there are multiple people in our town without service, including the Police Department who uses verizon wireless internet to communicate.  We have been without service since around 9PM pacific time last night!!! Completely unacceptable!
