Is there a fee for cancelling a month-to-month contract, if so what is it?

I was hoping to just email someone at Verizon but it became more work than expected.

If you are still under contract, you'll pay an ETF to cancel the contract, i.e., for smartphones, it's $350 minus $10 for each full month of your contract term that you've completed.  If you are out of contract, i.e., month-to-month, there is no fee to cancel your service.
