However keep in mind if Verizon terminates your contract for cause(lying), they still have the right to charge you the ETF.

First of all, been with them since 05... RESTOCKING FEE FOR someone who never pays late, as a matter of fact builds a credit up throughout the year.   NEVER HAD BILL PAST DUE EVER...

so first i went through all the... had a BlackBerry back before data was big and could be blocked.  then had to buy phone outright cause they changed their services.  Got Treo cause could block that.... OP 9 months later once again spent 300 on full retail price of phone cause of THEIR service changes.

REMEMBER VIP Program.  PEOPLE WHO you guys actually get paid buy without having to turn our services off and on or call/mail constantly trying to collect.    GONE WITHOUT NOTICE.   THEY DONT KNOW WHAT SERVICE IS ANYMORE... going to try and find a company who does..    this weeknd.  If your gonna sign up, i would hold off

The return policy is where the restocking fee is stated and applies to all returns. You can also find the link at the bottom of every web page on the Verizon Wireless website.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Fulfill what YOU agreed to when you got that shiny new phone you could not live without 19 months ago, and VZW will be more than happy to help! If it is an iPhone, Apple does not allow early upgrades

If you are trying to upgrade 1 month early, that means you are really trying to upgrade 5 months before the end of your contract, because Verizon's upgrades happen @ 20 months of the 24 month contract. THEY ALREADY ALLOW YOU TO UPGRADE EARLY, AND THEY ARE STUPID?

Yea, sorry but as for purchasing a new phone, if i didn't have an early upgrade then I paid outright.    I just thought though, considering early termination is about $400.00, cant people just add a line then cancel it and keep the phone.   you would be a scum bag, but just saying isn't that just one loophole in the contract?

WOW   Thank you Jim.   You have commented on my grammar and structure the whole time, did you see the ???    it was a question.  One that im sorry, really don;t need to know the answer to,   If i wanted to get a different phone, i know my choices or deal.    You have commented about every post i have made and have not asked a single question.   This forum,, that i have learned is for people with questions.  And yo, I didn't spit on you today, so whats with the attitude.

How is that a loophole?  You're going to pay $200 plus freight and $35 activation for a new phone, then cancel and pay $350 ETF.  What good is that going to do you?  And if you don't activate the phone, they bill you full retail.  That's a really good idea.

Verizon Wireless may be one of the most vile companies with whom I have ever done business. Roughly 3 months after the debacle that led to this initial post, they have come back with some new bogus charges to collect. This was after multiple errors on their part and in which they finally addressed and went into the local Verizon retail center, armed with the number from an internal contact, and so the local representative could finally get this resolved. This included confirmation that the transfer was complete, the billing was corrected, and all the erroneous charges that had resulted from the second phone number were either paid or removed. Then 3 months later, we get a bill for the old phone number - no explanation. Then immediately we are getting collection calls and when I explained it was error, their response, was something like - according to our records this has been validated, when can you pay. I explained, suggested they look at the notes, she puts me on hold, comes back and says, these charges have been validated. I request they look at this more closely, providing the other phone number as well, and she agrees. 2 days later, another collector and she doesn't care about anything I have to say, "sir, its been validated. When are you going to pay?". I explain never and lay out in concise detail what happened, including how it was resolved, and that it included removing all charges other than the bogus phone restocking fees and they merged the records together and ask her to escalate this. She says, "sir, its been validated already." I said it will never be paid because it is not owed and she said, thank you and good bye. Our next call was from a collection agency.

I am starting to believe that their internal policies there are just keep saying no because some percentage of the customers will end up just paying to get them out of their hair. This is despicable, but I give up on Verizon Wireless and the extraordinary effort it takes to find someone with either the integrity or the level of authority to actually fix a problem that was caused by their actions in the first place.

Small claims court, here we come. It may take a while before we get there, but there is no way in the world they can justify this and I am looking forward to seeing how they address it when they have to prove their actions.

In the interum send a certified return receipt letter to first the collection agency dispute the bill and tell them to never call you or contact you again. (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) Send another Certified Return Receipt Requested dispute to the the invoice address of your bill, tell them why you dispute it and that you will only accept written confirmation that it has been taken care of properly.

Go to the small claims court NOW include the costs of the certified letters you sent, the cost of the filing fee, loss of hourly wage, and any and all disputed amounts. The court clerk will assist you.

Once verizon gets your summons they will call you to settle. Do not settle for a penny less than what you put in the court filing. Additionally don't sign off on the deal until you get a release letter from verizon stating the collection was in error, and that all credit bureaus remove it totally. Make sure verizon sends you a copy of the letter they send to the collection agency cancelling the collection activity because it was their error.

Also do not agree to any non disclosure stipulation, you have a perfect right to tell people you won your case. If it went to court it would be public record.

Good Luck
