Losing a loyal cunstomer thanks to poor customer service

I have been a Verizon Customer for approx. 5 years now, and have been relatively happy until I viewed my bill which normally runs around $320 a month. But all of a sudden my bill was $505.00. So I looked at why my bill was so large and come to find out I was charged a reconnect fee of $20 per line, I have 8 lines. So my 1st step was contact Customer service, after speaking to them I was informed it was due to a missed payment arrangement. The rep then transferred me to Financial services which informed me that the charges were valid. Which I know they are not cause I told them I would make the payment on the day that I did make the payment.

So step 2 I called back after calming down and spoke with another rep, but this time asked for a supervisor. After explaining to this rep the situation and asking for a supervisor she asked if she could look into it, I let her. She contacted Financial services and came back and told me the same thing I heard from the 1st rep. I again asked to speak to a supervisor and she told me unfortunately they couldn't do anything either. So after this being the second time this has happened to me. Yes I know from time to time I am late on my bills but I always pay them and always meet any arrangements I make. So after all of these problems I will be taking my business to another carrier who seems to WANT my business. Unlike Verizon!!

They put it to you on their reconnect fees. SAD.

Over 16 years with Verizon Wireless, plus buying well over 30 devices over those years from them getting banged at $100.00 in reconnecting fees, I am sick of it. Shameful.

Other providers provide as good of plans, cheaper than what I'm paying now. Shopping now for the best deals.

TMobile has a $20 reconnect fee. AT&T has a $40 reconnect fee. Sprint charges $36.

You have to be very late to even get reconnect fees with Verizon, otherwise the charge is only $5.

papa1950,

We value your loyalty and wouldn't want to lose your business. I know extra fees are never fun and we work hard to provide options to avoid them whenever possible. Have you recently been charged reconnection fees? Had you set up a payment arrangement to avoid any issues?
