No More Unlimited Data?!?!?
IV
Newbie

I think it's really greedy of Verizon... after already making millions... to now take away the unlimited data privilege. Now they do it by GB just so they can charge people overages when they go over their usage..... so now it costs more than $30 for data if you want more than 2GB of data. This is absolutely ridiculous and I'll be changing my plan soon enough if this doesn't change. If enough people complain about it I think they'll change it back to unlimited... so say something, write a comment, call verizon.

This world is just getting way too greedy and overcharging for everything and I’m really tired of it when it can be easily changed if enough people say something.

They are NOT going to go back to unlimited. And it's stupid to think they could offer unlimited. The network simply can't handle that. Heck even most cable ISPs have caps. They are much larger caps but they aren't unlimited.

Also they got rid of unlimited a YEAR ago so why bring this up now?

Hi IV,

Your feedback is greatly appreciated and I can happily alleviate the confusion.  You are able to keep your unlimited data when purchasing a device at the full retail price. When upgrading at a discounted price you can choose between a Usage Based data plan or a Share Everything. How much data do you use currently? Which plan do you currently have? How many active lines of service? Have you had the opportunity to identify how you would be affected by a Share Everything plan? If not, this fantastic tool can assist you:http://bit.ly/KBmvR7. I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Calling and whining will get you this.  "I certainly understand why that is frustrating" and you will be told you're right while they laugh at your childishness.  Then the call will end and you will be forgotten.  NEXT,

I agree. My son just went to do an upgrade and they said we would lose our plan & have to pick the limited GB data package. It's bad enough to have to wait 1-2 years to change your phone then they do this!!!! I am Currently looking for a new carrier....this is really ridiculous. SO what you pay full price for a new cell phone What at the inflated price $599-699.00 that is just a joke.

I agree I'm super mad at verizon for this. Unforgiveable! I tried calling customer service and they said I would lose my unlimited data if I upgraded! What kind of business operates like this! Whatever happened to customer loyalty?

Only carrier left with unlimited data is Sprint... And I'm paying horrendously with them, just stuck in a contract. 1400 minutes unlimited texting and data 198.00 two phones. All I can do is wish you luck if you switch. I want to switch TO Verizon I have wifi at home and don't use much data as it is because I work all day really. So my needs aren't really that great, my regular cable wifi does just fine and there's wifi pretty much anywhere, and I only need it when I want to watch a video or something.

Ok you all need education.

Lesson one.  If they gave everyone out there unlimited data, you would change your complaint from "whaaa i want unlimited data when i use one gb" to "whaaaa my unlimited data is slow because the towers are overloaded and our lines are throttled from overuse"

Lesson two.  That high phone price isn't an "inflated price" its what the phone ACTUALLY costs, and what the provider paid for it.  If you don't want to follow the rules (that you agree to by signing a contract to get a CHEAPER phone lol) don't sign a contract and find a better way to provide yourself a phone.

Lesson three.  When you complain about business decisions you clearly don't understand and act selfish like this and boo hoo over it, the chances of any employee being willing to even negotiate with you drops by at least 50% because they hear the same thing from every identical customer that calls them all day.

Lesson four.  The "I will leave if i don't get my free cookie" argument is null.  Corporations plan their practices, policies, and training, with all of those situations in mind and crunch the numbers accordingly.  So "you are going to lose a customer!" is going to get a canned scripted response and then after the call you are forgotten, and documented accordingly so the next rep can see what you tried to pull and how.
