No device insurance??!!

I got a text message today saying that "Device insurance may have been removed from your account." What does this mean and why did I receive it?

I don't believe that Verizon sends these type of account messages via text message.  I would save the message and call Verizon or log on to your MyVerizon to verify that all of your account features, including insurance if you signed up for it, are in order.  Then, you should report the message and its sender to Verizon in case it is someone looking to scam you.

You can definitely call them to confirm that your insurance is still in place, but call them at the official number listed on the documentation they gave you or here on the Verizon site.  Don't use a number provided to you through an unsolicited text message or phone call, it could be a scam.

Catfish is right ... this smells fishy. Besides, adding or removing insurance on your account would be done through Verizon, not Assurion.

Have you done any insurance claims recently or changed phones?

Yes, Assurion will request insurance to be terminated if you have too many claims. also, if you activate a old device or one not purchased new for your account then insurance will not cover it. You can only add insurance with in the first 30 days of new phone purchase

Have you filed a claim recently? The claim limit is two claims within a 12- month period. Once you have filed 2 claims in a 12-month period, the insurance will be dropped from the account.
