No employer discount on Unlimited Plan??

So now that Verizon no longer has the option to choose how much data you would like to have a month (They only have it for kids) if I wanted another plan I would have to give up my corporate discount on my bill.  I know in the past if you wanted unlimited everything you could no longer use your corporate discount on your bill, but since they only offer unlimited everything now why can't they just let you use your discount on the bill.  Only way to be able to afford verizon is if I can continue to use my discount.  I am extremely upset as I have been a Verizon customer since day 1, and they won't allow this.  Again they only offer unlimited everything, I tried to get more GB of data per month but was told that is only available for kids.  Any way around this?

Verizon doesn't only offer unlimited plans. They STILL offer tiered data plans as they have in the past.

Verizon still has tiered data plans. Verizon doesn't have corprote discounts and neither do the other carreirs. That's just the way it is.

I have to agree.  And if you notice, AT&T did the same.  With loss of discount, unlimited would cost me $80 to $100 more a month.  And I just don’t need that much data.  We have a 20 gig plan, and usually use well under.   Once in a while it gets crazy.    With that price difference, I’ll pay for the occasional overage first.  And my kids will get the boot onto their own plans/prepaid if it gets bad.

Something was lost in translation. Kids don't get special data privileges, "Just Kids" is part of Verizon's mix and match unlimited setup where it's a gimped 5GB speed limit that offers no real savings over leaving it unlimited.

If you go for a data plan, mainstream options are 2, 4 and 8GB. Some customers are grandfathered into the 16GB and 24GB packages. You have to call to see if those options are present. Otherwise, you go to unlimited and either offset the cost with autopay or apply for a military / first responder discount if applicable.

I think the point is lack of choice.  Metered plans have their place, including large metered plans.  And I’ll be holding onto mine until I get a better offer.

As a consumer myself, I know how important it is to be on the best valued plan for your usage, redsoxgirl582. We want to ensure you remain as part of the Verizon family. We do have a variety of plans that include unlimited and tiered plans. You can view all plans here, http://spr.ly/6609Eqdc3. Our unlimited plans are already discounted and would not allow any other discounts aside from a military discount. If eligible for a military discount, you can apply here, http://spr.ly/6600EqdcO.

I also use the employer discount on my shared data plan.  Switching over to an unlimited plan is too expensive for me especially when one of my phones is the basic phone.

Lol.  Is Verizon deluded?   My 22% off my tiered plan and $15 line fees and $10 tablet, means my bill is $168 for a typical use of around 10 - 15 gigs a month.  I don’t need Unlimited.  Neither AT&T or Verizon can match the plan.

T-mobile can match the price with unlimited and has a deal to accept my discount, but they have terrible coverage here.

Both AT&T and Verizon need to get heads out of the sand
