Of New Plans and Hotspot Data Caps

OK, so over on the VZW reddit, there was a thread saying that under the new plans, going over the monthly allotment on smartphone hotspot will now only result in deprioritization, rather than the 600 kbps throttle. However, as of today, there's another thread saying that the first thread wasn't true and that the hard caps will still be in place under the new plans.

So I just want to ask plain as day on the one place where the truth will be known: which is correct? Are we still having the hard caps and 600 kbps throttling or will we just be deprioritized if we go over?

Thank you so much.

The current plans indicate after the high speed hotspot data allowance is used, the hotspot data speed is reduced to a maximum of 600 kbps speeds for the remainder of the billing cycle.

Of course this could change if and when Verizon Wireless decides to switch up their plan offerings.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

We want to make sure that we are able to clarify this situation to avoid any confusion. Whenever you reach your hotspot limit you will be throttled to 600 Kbps, but the connection from the device itself will only be deprioritized if you are trying to browse any app on the phone.
