Why would Verison want me to go to T-mobile and pay 20 dollars less with unlimited data at 4g because they refuse to replace a phone with a explosive battery that caused phone to crack. It got overheated in the case and caused marks on the phone. The corporate store manager never offered us a new battery or phone. We had to pay for another and we had nothing to do with it. We decided to go to T-Mobile that pays off our verison phones and put us on an unlimited data plan a 4g no data caps. All they had to do was replace the cheapest phone they sell and allow us to continue to pay our 200.00 dollars a month. The customer service is horrible and we got no resolve so we went to another carrier with the best customer satisfaction rate. I would never go back to verison and will tell everyone I know about the experience. They lost 2400.00 dollars a year over a 200.00 phone. The will also experience the complaints that I will file anywhere I can.

In your post you never stated how old your device was. Was it still under the manufacturer warranty? If not, did you have insurance that had an extended warranty? When you get ready to switch make sure you read the fine print. No carrier offers TRUE unlimited data. They may not cap your data usage at a certain amount, but they WILL de-prioritize your speed when you reach your data plans stated threshold during network congestion.
Also, batteries are not covered under warranty.
Even further, this happened INSIDE a case. If the case did not allow the phone to vent properly then it is NOT the fault of Verizon and they are not responsible to remedy the situation. Going further than that, Verizon is never and has never been responsible for you to have a working phone. That is the responsibility of the user/customer. They do not make phones. So if you really want to twist someone, contact the phone manufacturer.

You better make sure about that. Most of the offers from other providers require you to turn in an undamaged working phone in order to qualify to have your Verizon phone paid off. It would be ironic for you to switch providers, have to purchase a new phone and STILL have to pay off your Verizon phone because your broken phone did not qualify for the promotion. You would be in the same boat at the new provider for the same reason you left Verizon.

Credit applied to existing Equipment Installment Plan(s) (EIP) balance(s) or to customer bill in the order determined by T-Mobile and customer eligibility; may take several billing cycles to receive credit. Device recovery transactions are final; after you trade in your device, you cannot get it back. CWork may make adjustments to the Initial Quote based upon evaluation of quality and condition of the device on receipt."
