In your display advertising for a reduced price to upgrade with a contract extension there isn't even any fine print mentioning the upgrade charge.  How about "truth in advertising?"

That is curious, ALL of the phones at my local Verizon store have a message listing the $30 upgrade fee.

Whenever I am logged into MyVerizon and am looking at phones, there is a message next to each phone listing the $30 upgrade fee.

Dear loyalist51,

I appreciate your continued support to Verizon Wireless and of course I would like our relationship to continue for an additional seven years.

What has you thinking of leaving? It sounds like you were mistreated and I absolutely want to hear more about it so I can submit the proper feedback so that corrective action can be taken.

You should be treated in a professional and respectable manner and I can assure you that will happen from here going forward.

I have been waiting for this, most of your employees are just defending Verizon with some arrogance and without respect to customers here on this community service.  First of all, I noticed that representatives don't have a standardized answer for commonly asked questions.  The answers from representatives must be exactly the same to avoid confusion.  I noticed that if I ask a question I will get an answer from one representative and after I hang up, I will call back and I will get another representative, which will give me different answer. It is better not to answer than cause confusion.  And managers must be very knowledgeable of the product and customer service and how important customers are, you are here to sell products and you should do everything to make your customers 100% satisfied, no raising voices, no arrogance, no attitude, no matter how bad the customer is and please don't ever say to customers " let me ask you this sir, why do you think i am in this position, if I am not very good at what I am doing"  I was told exactly that sentence the last time I spoke with one of your managers.  He should be demoted and he doesn't know what a manager is.  He has a lot more to learn to be called a great or excellent manager.  I don't think he should be answering customers' questions.  and he doesn't deserve to be called a manager.  No respect to customers, no compassion and most of all no ears to listen to customers.  Representatives and Managers should just listen to the customers and ask, I understand how you feel sir, what can I do to make you happy with regards to Verizon's products and services.  Do you know that at Costco, you can return a product, even if it is more than 2 years old and still get a refund, NO question ask?

Okay, that's my rant for you Nicholas, I hope that you would do something to that manager.  Remember he represents Verizon like you do.

As always, your feedback is greatly appreciated, PATRIOT78.
As part of the upgrade process, we provide services like Wireless Workshops, online educational tools and personal consultations to guide you through the use of your device, that are more sophisticated than ever before. We can't waive the fee but you can take a look at your current device's recycle value http://bit.ly/GGnDDC; you may be able to recycle it for a Verizon Wireless gift card, which could offset the costs of upgrading.
It's great that you are already familiar with changing your own information. We understand your concerns, but all of our devices are more sophisticated than ever before; from Basic phones that will backup your contacts to the Smartphones that are more like mini computers so the overall cost associated with all upgrades has increased.

When I recently "upgraded" my phone the verizon employee asked me if I would like to recycle my phone "for the troops". No mention of any gift card nor any rebate received. Just another example of verizon greed and dishonesty. "Anything for a buck is Verizon's motto. OK wait for it, next up will be Verizon's whine that the other wireless companies do it too.

That doesn't even make sense, how can they recycle a phone "for the troops" when most VzW phones you'd be "recycling" won't even work in almost any country a soldier would be deployed *to*...

This sounds more of a charitable donation. I wasn't aware you needed an incentive to make a "donation" to charity. In the past, I have seen collection boxes in Verizon stores for homeless shelters to utilize "recycled" phones. We sometimes have them in my workplace, too. I don't normally "expect" a perk for donating to charity, though, and I certainly wouldn't claim the company providing the service to collect the items of being "greedy".

Normally, I prefer to donate some of my older phones to the charity of my choosing without having to go thru a 3rd party such as Verizon.
