Poor signal strength Southern MD

I reached out to Verizon via meesenger about poor signal strength and was told there are known external factors. My work phone with AT&T service holds 5 bars steady. Why? I would like to know why these factors can't be corrected and I'd like a 50% refund of the roughly $15,000 I have paid for subpar service over the past 10 years. Seems fair to me.
