Experiencing outages in Overton, TX as well. I and many family members can't call or do anything.

We have no service in Lindale, TX.  I can't call out to place a notice of service outage.

If you can still access the internet and have Twitter...in my experience, the VZW reps are pretty responsive and resourceful...more so than live chat...again, this is just my experience.  Fingers crossed that you get service back ASAP!

Keep a land line.  I believe it is necessary when you get such poor service from Verizon.

I've come to rely so much on my cell phone that I've eliminated a land line.  I only know if very few family members who still have one.  I guess if you live in an area that has poor reception then a land line would be necessary...
